Next Saturday an inclusive
community event is being
organised by St Martin’s Church,
London Road in Worcester, in
association with the Worcester
Mosques and the Rotary Club of
Worcester South.
The Christmas Peace and
Friendship Party will be held in
St Martin’s Parish Centre, where
tea, coffee and soft drinks will
be provided, and all will enjoy a
‘bring and share’ lunch. Children will be invited to make Christmas decorations which
will then be taken over to the church to dress a Christmas tree to be added to the
‘Festival of Christmas Trees’.
The event is free and open to everyone, and there will be an opportunity to make
donations to Worcester Foodbank – either money or Christmas goodies will be
particularly welcome.
David Scott, who is organising the event along with Cllr Jabba Riaz, said: “Christmas is
a family time for people of many different traditions, not just Christians, and it’s a good
time to spread peace and friendship to all our neighbours. We’re hoping to bring together
people from all our communities, including our Italian and Eastern European residents.”
This is the second year that this event has been held and the organisers hope to fill
St Martin’s Parish Centre again with peace and friendship this Christmastide.
Please pray for all those involved in the peace and friendship Christmas party
at St Martin’s.
