Baptism books

This week, the parish of Gornal & Sedgley will launch their new Baptism books project,
which has been created as a way to help the church keep their promise to baptism
parents, to “welcome baptised children and uphold them in their new lives in Christ”.
The resource will be launched on Tuesday 1 October, after having been trialled by
families earlier this year.

The resource has been designed to be fun and interactive for families on their faith
journey. Each month, the Gornal & Sedgley team will forward a popular, secular book
suggestion to their baptism families which they would like them to share together. In
addition to reading the book, the resource will highlight a way in which the book reflects
something about God; it will also include activity suggestions linked to the story which
families can try together and there are prayers for the family to use. The Gornal &
Sedgley team have committed to praying for the families each month, as they journey
through faith.

If your church would like to be part of this project, please contact Mission Enabler,
Helen Laird, by email on HLaird@cofe-worcester.org.uk.

Please pray for all those involved in
the Baptism books project, for those
taking part and those facilitating it.
Please also pray for the project to
flourish and to support families as
they grow together in faith.
