Christmass Fayre Day
This will be postponed to Saturday 5th December. All meal tickets and raffle tickets will be transferred to this date. Thank you to all who have donated item so far. It’s really appreciated. Further details are still published in November’s CHAD. One positive thing about this postponement is that we have more time to sell the Grand Draw tickets. These are available in church when you come for Private Prayer or we can arrange delivery if needed. We are more that ever, reliant on this aspect of the income from the fayre this year. Our goal is to sell 1000 tickets @ £1.00 each (5 in a book). Please do all you can to make this happen. How wonderful would it be if we got there?
Judith has raised £230.50 through her baking talents so far. Thank you Judith! She has some more orders to fulfil at the moment but she will take any new orders at anytime for delivery at the end of the month or beginning of December by arrangement. NB Her scones are delicious! Please feel free to contact her!
Ian H Wales
Some people may remember Ian Wales. He was the Methodist minister at Woodsetton Methodist several years ago and he lived in the Manse in Chad Road. St Chad’s had a very good relationship with Woodsetton at that time and this was down to the ecumenical ministry of Ian and Fr Mel Smith. Ian has many fond memories of St Chad’s and he joined the parish pilgrimage to Walsingham on a couple of occasions. Ian hasn’t been too well and is due to have major heart surgery in a week or so. Please remember him in your prayers.
Sundays at 11.00am
The lockdown rules mean that we can-not share Mass together during the next four Sundays. However, Father Gary will be saying Mass at 11am each Sunday and he will live stream it. This can be joined in from home by accessing the church Facebook page.
Praying at home
It is understandable that some people will be unable or not comfortable to go to church for a time of private prayer. We have also some prayer resources that can be helpful. These will be emailed or posted.
Keeping in touch
Please do keep in touch with one another during the next four weeks. Please telephone, text or use email. We are making sure that all who haven’t digital facilities at home are not left out. Our postal delivery service resumes this weekend sharing this communication, the Bulletin and anything else we have to share. If we forget or omit anyone who needs to be on the list, please let us know. It would not have been intentional.
