Each year, a children’s summer holiday club is run in Stourbridge as an ecumenical
project led by Keri Robinson, children’s worker at St. Peter’s Church and Kasia
Bukowska, children’s team leader at Chawn Hill Church. Around 90 – 100 children
from the local area attend each day.
The club is for primary age children and this year will run from 21 – 24 July, 10am –
12.30pm. The theme is ‘Weird Animals’ and the children will be encouraged to think
about how Jesus’ love is one of a kind!
Keri explains: “Our holiday club is run as part of an initiative called “Love Stourbridge”
where churches in Stourbridge are encouraged to think of random acts of kindness
that they can do for their neighbours and communities. We have volunteers from all
churches across Stourbridge helping us to plan and run the week.
“Children love holiday clubs and always have lots of fun. By running the club we can
help parents occupy their children for a few days over the summer holiday, but more
importantly it’s a great opportunity to share God’s love with children and their families!”
