The Society of Catholic Priests (SCP) is a Church
of England organisation set up in 1994 to help
provide support for women from the more Catholic
traditions of the Church of England to be ordained
as priests. Today, this vision of inclusive Catholicism
continues by seeking to promote priestly spirituality
and Catholic evangelism. The SCP follow an
understanding of the Catholic traditions as being
inclusive to everyone, recognising vocations to all
levels of ordained ministry regardless of gender
or sexuality. Further information can be found
on the SCP website via the following link: www.
societyofcatholicpriests.com.
The Worcester Chapter is a thriving branch of the
SCP. Members meet every other month to share
communion, as well as some lunch and fellowship,
and to discuss issues affecting the life of the
church today. Worcester SCP aims to help promote
vocations and develop areas of Catholic evangelism,
proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ in word,
sacrament and deed.
If you would like to know more about what the
Chapter does, please get in touch with the
Chapter Rector, Philip Morton, by email on:
revphilipmorton@gmail.com.
Please pray for the Worcester Chapter of the SCP as they continue their work to
promote vocations.
