Rogation Day falls tomorrow and the Bowbrook Group has been busy over the last week preparing for and teaching about this agricultural festival.
Outdoor Rogation services were celebrated with Tibberton CE First School and Crowle CE First School last week. The Revd David Morris led children and staff around their villages on bracing walks, regularly stopping to pray around the parishes rather than for the parishes. The interactive services brought prayers for God’s glorious creation in their villages fully to life for both schools of children.
The Revd David Morris said: “It’s really important in a rural community to pray for the area, asking for God’s blessing and showing children the important links between their schools, communities and churches.”
The Chaplaincy for Agriculture and Rural Life (CARL) also held their annual Rogation service on Tuesday evening, at the Wildgoose Rural Training Centre and Nature Reserve in Hallow.
Today, Rogation services will take place in Hanbury and Tibberton churches.
Please pray for God’s glorious creation this Rogationtide, and that, we, as stewards of His earth, continue to care for and appreciate it.
