Last October, Rob Farmer was appointed as Worcester
Archdeaconry Warden of Readers by Bishop John. Rob
is currently Team Vicar at St Matthew, Ronkswood, in
Worcester East.
In his new role, Rob will provide support for licensed lay
ministers in the Archdeaconry, whilst advocating and
championing lay ministry in the Diocese. He will offer care
and advice to current LLMs, whilst also encouraging and
discerning others’ vocations to licensed lay ministry.
Rob said: “I am overjoyed to be asked to be part of the
team. Encouraging the vocation and ministry of all God’s
people has always been a passion of mine, and I look forward to working alongside
existing LLMs and journeying with candidates for ministry.”
Sue Oliver, Warden of Readers, said: “I am delighted Rob is joining the team. These
are exciting times for the future of Lay Ministry across the country and Rob will be at
the forefront of discerning new Reader vocations in the Worcester Archdeaconry.”
Rob takes over from the Revd Nick Wright who served in this post for
twenty-four years.
Please pray for all those
who are called to use their
gifts serving as Readers and
LLMs across the Diocese.
