At the start of the year, Diane Reeves started as Strategic Programme Manager in the
diocesan office. Funded through a grant from the Archbishops’ Council, Diane will help
manage our programme of projects in our four priority areas under the Kingdom People
vision: children and young people; deepening discipleship; strengthening stewardship;
and creating mission-focussed buildings.
Diane joined the diocesan office from the NHS. She has
spent the last 17 years in NHS management working in
the Sandwell and Birmingham area, most recently as Chief
Accountable Officer for a Clinical Commissioning Group.
Before moving into Management she worked as a GP. She
is also a lifelong member of the Church of England, currently
worshipping at St. Peter’s Church in Harborne, Birmingham,
where she leads intercessions, reads the lesson and enjoys
helping with the coffee after the service!
Diane said: “Last year, I completed the Diocese of
Birmingham’s 3D Course (similar to the Bishop’s Certificate)
and had the opportunity to think about what I wanted to do in the future and whether
God was calling me in a different direction. When I saw the advert, it seemed like a
great match with my skillset and I’m really looking forward to using my experience to
help bring God’s Kingdom closer.
“My role as an NHS Manager was all about encouraging people to achieve their full
potential. I’m bringing this management style to the role of Strategic Programme
Manager – I’m not there to tell people what to do, but to help enable different groups
to work together in delivering the Kingdom People vision.”
Please pray for Diane in this role and for those in the diocesan office who are developing
our vision and priority areas.
