New Spirituality Adviser Appointed

Bishop John has appointed Sue Perry as his new Adviser
for Spirituality.

Sue is a member of St George’s Church in Barbourne,
Worcester having recently moved to Worcester from Pershore
where she was Lay Chair of Pershore Deanery for a number
of years as well as an active member of Pershore Abbey.
She is an ALM in pastoral care, has been a member of the
Healing and Wholeness Advisory Group and is a volunteer
chaplain at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, working in A&E
supporting staff, patients and relatives.

Sue said: “I do feel that I have a real calling to pastoral care as well as helping people
to find ways to deepen their spirituality and prayer life. I have been a Spiritual Director
for around four years having completed the ecumenical spiritual direction course in the
Diocese of Birmingham and am looking forward to working collaboratively with people
who want to be involved in developing spirituality. I definitely don’t have all the right
answers, but hopefully I can help bring people together who have different skills and
gifts in this area.”

Sue will work with the spiritual direction network and among other things, will also look
at encouraging people to explore their spirituality through retreats, pilgrimages, and
quiet days.

Please pray for Sue as she takes up this new role.
