Motov8 partnership

A new partnership between St. Paul’s Church, Worcester Charity, Motov8, and national Christian Education Charity, TLG, is training volunteers from local churches to become 1-2-1 behaviour coaches with children in Primary and Secondary Schools in Worcester.

Motov8 was started by Kempsey Rector, Mark Badger, to help disaffected young people gain practical skills. Since 2001 it has provided young people with skills which they can use in the workplace and is now looking to set up new partnerships, such as working with St. Paul’s Church in Worcester and TLG to help support school children.

St. Paul’s Church has worked with TLG for the past year with very positive feedback.

Dot Burnett is the City Care Manager at the church. She said: “It’s important to reassure schools that those visiting children are good and well trained. All volunteers work with a child for one hour a week for at least one academic year – showing them that they are loved and there is hope. It’s really exciting to see how God can open doors into families that others would consider closed.”

The new partnership will enable five new volunteers to be trained and supported for two years. Dot said: “I hope this will be the first step in developing a network across Worcester with schools and churches working in partnership together. Our vision is that every church will have at least one volunteer in a local primary school.”

Please pray for all those working in this new partnership and for the children and families that it will reach.
