Launch of All Saints as a resourcing church

All Saints in Worcester is one of two churches in the Diocese who have received funding
to become a resourcing church – enabling it to better support other churches as well
as its local community.

The congregation gathered with Bishop John last November, to launch officially the
church’s new role. Bishop John said: “Jesus gives us the power to love, to be servants
and to give ourselves. Like many churches, All Saints already has these hallmarks.”

The funding will enable All Saints to develop their church building and employ additional
team members to enable them to grow. “As a resourcing church, it will be helped and
resourced, in order to have a vision for the whole city,” Bishop John continued, “thereby
becoming a resource and a blessing to others.”

Rich Johnson, Vicar of All Saints said: “Being officially designated as a resourcing church
will be an exciting opportunity to be innovative.” Resourcing churches are part of a
national Church of England strategy to bring more people to faith and to continue to
serve local communities effectively. “Over the next few years,” Rich continued, “we will be
working with the Diocese to plant new churches, work in partnership to revitalise existing
churches and share our resources so that the whole Church in Worcester might flourish.”

Please pray for All Saints, that it will encourage more people to come to faith and that
it will be a helpful resource for other churches in the Diocese.
