Kingdom Projects at Old Hill Church

Old Hill Church recently applied for and was awarded £1,000 from the Kingdom People
Fund. The money will be put towards the Stepping Stones coffee mornings and the
church’s ‘Tea and Toast’ initiative.

Stepping Stones was started by Community Outreach Worker, Linda Taylor who felt that
God was pointing out a real need to bring people together, out of isolation, insecurity
and loneliness. It meets once a month in the Church Hall, is open for anyone, and offers
a place of love, friendship, belonging and welcome. Often people feel intimidated and
scared at the thought of entering the door of a church, so Stepping Stones aims to be
the first neutral step in coming to faith. The group offers prayer, support, signposting,
visits and friendship and connections have started to be made with each other and
the wider community. Some of the visitors have started attending one of the services
at Old Hill.

Tea and Toast is an outreach ministry
which meets each Monday during term
time for two hours in the Community
Flat in Addenbrooke Court, Old Hill.
After working in the community flat for
over a year, primarily with parents and
young children, Julie Billingham and
Irene Portman, community workers at
Holy Trinity Old Hill, sensed God’s call
to work with the lonely and marginalised. Anyone is welcome to drop in. Support is
offered to people who feel overwhelmed by their life circumstances and the community
workers share faith and encourage it to grow in the people they meet.

Both these projects aim to fulfil the mission statement of Holy Trinity to take the love of
Jesus in action and words to ALL people.

Please pray for these projects at Old Hill Church, for opportunities to befriend and
encourage people and enable them to be a friendly face in the community.
