“If you
were a household appliance, what would you be?” With questions like that, Faith Pictures starts a conversation
about why many of us find it hard to talk about our faith.
Culturally,
English people have often found it embarrassing, and seen faith as a private
matter. Nowadays, however, comparatively few people understand Christian faith.
Those of us who do go to church need to be able to explain to others, at least
a little bit, why we do what we do.
Faith Pictures is a six-week discussion group program from the
Church Army that helps Christians explore how to get
over that cultural barrier. Through participating in the course, people will
find a new confidence that they can answer a friend’s question, explain what
they believe, and talk about why they pray.
Pray
that parishes might find opportunities to use the Faith Pictures course after
the Coronavirus pandemic, to help people talk more openly about faith.
