Celebrate the past: look to the future

Across this weekend, Holy Trinity Church in Old Hill, Dudley has been holding a celebration of the past, present and future with a range of activities and displays.

On Friday evening the church held a ‘quiz and buffet’, inviting participants to dress up in clothes from any decade since the 1870s and take a trip down memory lane with a quiz based around a traditional school day. Yesterday the church held a day of historic displays, refreshments, conversations and engaging talks on Old Hill history. The church wedding and baptism records were also available on display. Finally, today at 10.45am is a special service based around building on the historical ‘firm foundations’, celebrating God’s grace to Old Hill and Holy Trinity Church and looking to God for the future of the church and community.

Vicar of Holy Trinity, Nick Gower, explains: “We are celebrating our heritage as part of our Lottery grant to repair the tower roof. It’s a great opportunity to look back and see all that God has done through Holy Trinity and in the community of Old Hill. However, we want to look forward as well as back, so this weekend will also be the launch of our new logo and vision for our church family. We’re looking forward to continuing to serve Old Hill for many more years and hope that the community can come and celebrate with us during the weekend.”

Pray for all at Holy Trinity, Old Hill as they celebrate with their community.
