Celebrate! Service

On 4 November last year, after
much prayer, consideration
and preparation St Michael
& All Angels in Stourbridge
started a new type of Sunday
morning worship service. As
a church with a passion for
sharing the Lord Jesus with
local families, and with help
and encouragement from the Calling Young Disciples project, the church initiated a
family-focused worship service which strives to reach, include and engage people of
all ages, with or without a church upbringing. Children are encouraged to participate,
which involves joyful noise and interaction!

The church has made extensive use of the All-Sorts Worship material produced by
Claire Benton-Evans, which provides a basic format and material for each week of the
Church of England year. In this way, their worship focuses each week on the same Bible
texts which are used in the more traditional 9 am Morning Praise service each week.
Breakfast and fellowship is shared between the two congregations at 10.15 am, and
this starts the Celebrate! service. The service moves into the church worship area at
10.30 am and finishes by 11.15 am.

Every week requires lots of work and preparation, which has encouraged a number of
people to offer and develop their God-given gifts. This team plans, leads and runs the
weekly Celebrate! services. As Celebrate! reaches its frst birthday, the church now
plans to review its impact.

Please pray for St Michael & All Angels, Stourbridge, and all those they work with
through their Celebrate! services, as they seek to follow the Holy Spirit and expand
His Kingdom.
