During Lent, Bishop John has launched
an appeal to help those suffering from
malnutrition in our partner Diocese of
Morogoro, Tanzania. He says:
“Late last year, I visited Morogoro to be
part of the Diocese’s 50th Anniversary
celebrations. I had the opportunity travel
around the Diocese and see the faith,
hope and love of the people there. It really
is a place where God seems ever present.
However, I was also struck by the severe
poverty faced by many in Morogoro – many
are suffering serious malnutrition caused
largely by the failure of the rain to come.
Traditionally Lent has been marked by
Christians with a combination of prayer,
fasting and almsgiving. I would like to
encourage you this year, as part of your Lenten disciplines, to consider supporting our
friends in Christ who are suffering in ways that we don’t have to.
Any money raised will be given to the Diocese of Morogoro to help further their mission
and ministry, but more specifically to help those Ministers and Catechists who are in
need because they simply don’t have enough to eat.”
To contribute to Bishop John’s Lent appeal, please send your donation to the Diocesan
Office, ensuring it is marked: “Bishop’s Lent Appeal”; cheques should be made payable
to Worcester Diocesan Board of Finance Ltd.
Please pray for all those suffering from malnutrition in the Diocese of Morogoro
