Worcester’s resourcing church, All Saints, is using a
regular Alpha course as a key way of reaching out to
the local community.
The PCC has committed to running the course at least
once a term on a Wednesday night and has found
that there is a steady stream of people who want to
take part. Guests include both men and women aged
from 17 to 70 and usually half of the guests profess
to have no faith at the beginning of the course.
Andy Smith, Curate at All Saints, said: “The course has been really well received. We’ve
seen a good number of people become Christians and there is now a steady trickle of
new people joining the All Saints family. I just love seeing Jesus transforming peoples’
lives; becoming worshippers and growing in love for others.”
“The question ‘Is there a God?’ is the most important question we can ask, because
if the answer turns out to be ‘yes’, it will impact every area of our lives, from how we
understand relationships, ethics and ecological issues, to how we manage our money.”
Andy continued. “The Alpha Course provides a safe, fun, no-pressure space to explore
the Christian faith.”
Details of the next course starting in September are available on their website:
www.allsaintsworcester.org.uk/alpha.
Please pray for All Saints as it honours this commitment to run Alpha each term and
for all those who have and will attend, that they will be encouraged to come to faith
as a result.
